3-fold increase in accuracy

Camena Bioscience’s technology is aimed at enabling synthetic biologists.  Our site in Cambridge developed the gSynthTM technology, capable of producing a wide range of synthetic genes including complex sequences.

Over 300 bp gSynthTM produces DNA to 90% accuracy, whereas existing phosphoramidite DNA synthesis technology is just ~30% accurate.

The ability to read, write, and edit DNA is at the heart of the synthetic biology value chain.

Yet researchers are constrained by existing synthesis technologies, both chemical and enzymatic, which can be error-prone, limited in their ability to produce sequences genome-wide, and crucially lack scalability for translation to high-throughput environments.

  • Enzyme mix utilizing a uniquely optimized ligation-based ‘cut and paste’ method
